Walking Dead.

Good evening, or where I am, good morning. So, I was watching
The WalkingDead  which, in my opinion, is the best show on television right now. And the best show since The X-Files and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer went off the air. Hey! Don't knock Buffy! That show was witty with charming and well-designed characters and plots that kept you interested. It went downhill after season 4 when it tried to get all dark and trendy, but it was still good. Anyway, I'm re-watching it on Netflix, and I just got done with the episode where the farm is overrun and they are on the road and Carol is being her usual bitchy self (why won't they kill her?) and Rick gives his "This isn't a democracy" speech and then it pans away to the prison just on the other side of the woods. And it occurred to me, why the hell didn't Herschel think about that? He knew the area around his farm well, it never occurred to him that maybe they could check the prison? I just got to thinking, the highway where they left food for Sophia wasn't far from Herschel's farm. At least, not by car. And when they left. they went back to that car. Then, they went what couldn't have been a long drive, Rick said they had been driving red for the past hour, so depending on how much gas they started out with, they could've gone a little while but probably not that far. I'm sure a man who knew the area and had maps on it could've realized,

I can tell you everything about this area, until it's time to find somewhere to go...

'Hey, there's a prison not far from here, we could check it out.' I don't know, but you would think  he'd at least think about it. I don't know.

Speaking of Sophia, what do you think happened to her in the woods? Was she bit? Or did she
                                                                     SPOILER

die of exposure and just come back because, in this t.v. series, everyone is already infected with what causes zombism. so no matter how you die, you'll come back as a zombie unless someone destroys your brain. The bites just speed it up. It would be fun to think up a short story to explain what happened to her. They could have a little webisode or something. They were going to do something like that with the zombie in the tank from the first season, but it got voted down. I think they should do a bunch of webisodes telling stories of the most famous zombies. I watched to one for the zombie Rick encounters in the park. The half-corpse crawling through the grass he later goes back to dispatch. She was a mother who sacrificed herself so her kids could get away.

And as far as the farm getting overrun, who do you think was right about Randall? I thought Shane was right in this instance. As bad as killing someone is, the boy WAS obviously criminally minded, he obviously knew where Maggie lived, he was with a group he stupidly admitted was a group of rapists and murderers. And it's not like they have the luxury of a court and jail system that will lock him up. I'm sorry but I thought Shane was right in this instance. Rick should've just told Dale to shut the hell up, closed the barn door so his son couldn't see, and disposed of the guy. Because it's not like they have the option of calling the police! The time for civilized democracy was over. Dale was an old man with an old way of thinking that just didn't match the world he was living in. That's one of the reasons he died. And, if Rick had listened to Shane and not pussied out, the farm never would have been overrun and Shane probably would not have challenged Rick for the leadership of the group. Because, if he had put Randall down, Shane never would have led him out there to kill him, and the zombie herd would never had been alerted to their presence by the gunshot used to put Shane zombie down.

Another thing Shane was right about was the barn. They couldn't have lived with that threat over  their shoulder, and once Shane cleared up the delusion for Herschel had that the walkers were still people, he started giving more of a damn about the people that WERE actually people. Not to mention, they were wasting food on the things that could have been going to the human beings who needed it, and the group was wasting time, ammo and resources to search for a little girl that, I'm sorry, but would obviously be dead in that world. But they were risking their lives for that little girl and the whole time, Herschel had a little girl in the barn the whole time but didn't want to share with them because they would discover his "family" in the barn. I mean, they knew the group was looking for a little girl about 12 and then they find one and they don't want to mention it? But I guess Herschel didn't want them to 'kill' the 'poor, sick little girl' so he failed to mention it. So, anyway, when it comes to Rick and Shane, I think that in a lot of ways, Shane was actually a better leader in this world. Because when they were doing things his way, they actually were staying alive and if they had stayed doing things his way, they might still be living on the farm. Like Dale said, this was Shane's kind of world. But when Rick shows up, he actually starts putting the group at risk and making decisions based on a preconceived notion of 'humanity' when the truth is that human beings started off as just another animal and now they've been reduced to just another animal. But I love Rick, don't get me wrong, he does all right by the group convincing people to let them have shelter, keeping people together, talking them out of hard situations. Ricks a capable leader, too, he's just better at inspiration and diplomacy. And Shane is a hothead who didn't know what diplomacy was, and his headstrong, devious ways would have eventually got people killed too, especially if he had had to deal with the Governor. So, what do ya'll think? Who was the better leader? Rick or Shane? Was Shane right about the barn and Randall?

Rick takes a page from the Zombies Guide to Dealing with the Troublesome Living.

I know this was awful to watch, too, but I personally respected Rick more when he did this. And why is that little bitch Carl whining? Would you rather get ass-raped? Like Michonne tried to tell him, you're dad did what he had to do to save you.

Anyway, what do you think happened to Beth? And how will our heroes get themselves out of the scrape they currently find themselves in? Will they be saved by Michonne? Who, by the way, is my favorite character, or will they be forced to put the hurt on a bunch of living cannibals? Tell me what you think about any of this below.  Also, who do you think should die next? And how? I vote Carol by large crushing rock. Lol.
